An afternoon in the Gulf of Corinth, Greece, observing a single Risso's dolphin in a large group of striped dolphins. The mixed-species group includes a few short-beaked common dolphins as well as animals of intermediate pigmentation. We tracked dolphin movements, recorded group size and behaviour, took hundreds of digital photos for individual photo-identification, and timed surfacing intervals of the Risso's dolphin. Featured scientists include Silvia Bonizzoni, Lavinia Eddy and Nicola Stoppelli. Filmed by Giovanni Bearzi.
